A Home Library Service Volunteer is being sought to deliver some reading material to a borrower in Charfield. The borrower previously received deliveries via the Mobile Library, but as this service is no longer available Yate Library is looking for a local person to become a Volunteer.
The role would involve regular visits (usually 4-weekly) to the borrower to deliver new reading material and to return used books to a South Gloucestershire library.
Home Library Service Volunteers will need to fill in an application form, provide two referees and have proof of Right to Work in the UK. As the Volunteer will be visiting a vulnerable adult, a DBS Check will also need to be carried out.
If you feel you can help and spare some time please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or the Clerk for more information.

Charfield Parish Council will be hosting a liaison meeting with the Crest Nicolson developers in early September, to discuss issues arising from the construction of 106 homes at the Wotton end of the village. Although this is not a public meeting, it is the best platform for engaging with the developers in order to raise parishioners concerns and find solutions to issues as construction continues. The Parish Council already has a number of agenda items, but please contact the Clerk if there is anything you would like the Parish Council to cover at the meeting. Likewise, a liaison meeting with Bellway Homes is being sought.
We’ve recently received this pack from Merlin offering grants to local community groups. If you are interested please apply directly to the granting organisation.
