Gloucestershire Transport Plan

FYI, Although Charfield is in S Gloucestershire – as we are on the border of Gloucestershire County Council – the Transport Plan that is currently being consulted on is of importance….please see press release below and link should you want to comment on the draft plan.

The Parish Council / Village Plan Group will be making comment…..but as with all consultations – the more responses – the better….

Have your say on county transport plan

People across Gloucestershire are being invited to share their views on the county’s transport blueprint.

The Gloucestershire Local Transport Plan is a document which sets out the county’s transport priorities and direction of travel over 20 years.

It is a legal requirement and all highways authorities in England must have one.

The current plan was agreed in 2011 however it is regularly reviewed to make sure we’re still on the right track.

The first review of the plan is taking place this year and Cabinet has today (Wednesday) agreed that public consultation can take place to find out what people think.

People will be asked general and area specific questions about things like how the road network is managed, sustainable travel, HGVs and proposed transport schemes.

They can choose to answer all the questions or just those that are relevant to them.

Last autumn, more than 100 relevant organisations were invited to give their feedback, now it’s time for the public to have their say.

Cllr Will Windsor Clive, cabinet member for transport planning, said: “It’s important that we pause and take stock of what we’re planning.

“Times change and our priorities change so we need to know what people think about the plan and whether or not they agree with what’s in there.

“Transport affects us all in one way or another so I’d encourage everyone to take part; even if you only answer a couple of questions your feedback is essential.”

Planning Inquiries

Just to let you know that as of this week (week commencing 23/3/2015)…..there are no further updates regarding either of the recent Planning Appeals / Inquiries.

S Glos Council are still waiting for a date for the Day House Leaze appeal to be heard at High Court.

With regards the Charfield Green Inquiry – following some newly published information both S Glos Council and Gladman were given some extra time for comment (but not 3rd / interested parties)…..The cut off for comment is today – and the Inspector will then continue to put report together.

Charfield Green Appeal

I have today received an update to the timetable for Appeal Reference


Land South of Wotton Road, Charfield.

Due to length of time needed by ORS (Opinion Research Services) to carry out analysis / assessment of the Housing Needs Assessment submitted to Inquiry by Mr James Donagh on behalf o Barton Willmore – an extra week has been added to the schedule.

If you look under ‘Defend Charfield’ tab – and ‘Charfield Green’ – you will be able to view extra documents submitted…and information about what happens now.
